Ronald José Echeverría Pérez

Ronald José Echeverría Pérez is an agricultural engineer from Universidad de Sucre, holds an MSc in Agronomic Sciences from Universidad de Córdoba and a specialisation in Teaching from Corporación Universitaria del Caribe. He is head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering at Universidad de Sucre, where he has also taught since 2022. His master's thesis determined the water requirement of the American variety of avocado at the nursery stage, work he published in the journal Idesia in 2021.

He has more than a decade of experience in agricultural extension and rural development. He was a SENA instructor in agricultural production and nursery management, a food security manager and an agricultural consultant in cooperation programmes such as those of ACDI/VOCA, and has worked with Colombia's National Land Agency and Land Restitution Unit. At INGEBIR he brings his knowledge of soils, crops and value chains to the recovery of agricultural residual biomass and the sustainability of production systems.
