Eduardo David Arroyo Dagobeth
PhD in Energy Engineering – MSc in Biotechnology – Agro-industrial Engineer
Profile
Programme 1
Conversion and valorisation of residual biomass
Lines
Eduardo David Arroyo Dagobeth is a professor in the Department of Agro-industrial Engineering at Universidad de Sucre and deputy director of INGEBIR. He holds a PhD in Energy Engineering from Universidad de la Costa, whose thesis on energy valorisation through small-scale co-gasification of pelletised rice husk and corncob received the laureate distinction. He also holds an MSc in Biotechnology from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Medellín) and a degree in Agro-industrial Engineering from Universidad de Sucre.
His work focuses on the thermochemical conversion of residual biomass, particularly pyrolysis, gasification and co-pelletisation of agro-industrial residues, and on the enzymatic and hydrothermal modification of native cassava and yam starches. He has published in Recycling, Biomass and Applied Food Research, and has taken part in R&D&I projects for the technological development of starchy raw-material value chains.
