INGEBIR visits Universidad de Antioquia and Universidad Nacional in Manizales to contribute to Universidad de Sucre's extension policy

On 9 February 2026, members of INGEBIR visited the Extension Building of Universidad de Antioquia, in Medellín. The next day they visited Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Manizales campus. Both visits are part of the group's contribution to Universidad de Sucre's new university extension policy.

University extension is the function through which a university puts its knowledge at the service of companies, public bodies and communities, through consulting, continuing education, projects and technical services. Seeing first-hand how two other public universities organise it makes it possible to compare management models, ways of working with external partners and mechanisms for research groups to take part.

The subject is closely tied to the group's work. Its consulting services and tailored training are, in practice, extension activities, and what was learned on these visits informs both the institutional policy and the way the group offers those services.
